Yakiniku Happy
About This Spot
Stepping into Yakiniku Happy feels like slipping into a well-loved neighborhood spot where warmth and the irresistible scent of grilling meat quickly draw you in. Nestled in the heart of Nihonbashiningyocho, this intimate corner of Tokyo invites diners into a relaxed, almost timeless rhythm — a place where time slows down just enough to savor each carefully prepared bite and shared moment around the grill.
The atmosphere hums quietly with a balance of bustling energy and comforting familiarity. Scatterings of laughter and the gentle clink of glasses punctuate the air, while staff move with a friendly attentiveness that makes you feel seen and cared for, even after a long day exploring the city. Whether you're here alone or with friends, the pace encourages you to be present, lingering over conversations and the lively dance of charcoal and flames.
The menu unfolds like a thoughtful journey through Japan’s appreciation for Korean barbecue, highlighting textures and flavors you might not encounter every day. Imagine the satisfying chew of thickly sliced tongue grilled just right, or the unexpected elegance of chilled beef omasum sashimi that melts in your mouth. As dishes arrive—the fresh sharpness of homemade kimchi alongside the comforting heartiness of a small meat curry—you begin to understand why many come back with a sense of quiet delight, savoring the harmony between each ingredient and the company they keep.
Drinks here are part of the experience, too, with house-made lemon sours that are lively companions to rich bites, helping to cleanse the palate and lift spirits. The drink offerings encourage a leisurely pace, perfect for those willing to settle in and let the night stretch on with smiles and stories.
More than a restaurant, Yakiniku Happy is a place where local charm meets genuine hospitality. Its appeal lies not just in the quality of the wagyu or the careful selection of cuts but in the way everyone—whether visitor or regular—feels welcomed into a shared moment of simple joy. It’s a spot that invites you to slow down, savor, and leave a little happier than when you came in.

So grateful to have this as our last dinner spot for our trip to Japan. The food literally melts in your mouth and was full of flavour!! And the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Even without reservation, they quickly prepared a spot for us. Thank you so much<3

Very worth it all you can drink set menu. Food is only one serving but you can guzzle till you drop for 2 hours. We ordered an extra dish - beef tartare with egg. All the locals ordered them and we had to try. Very local joint, we are the only Gaijins. Beware, you will smell big time of bbq.

I really recommend this yakiniku place. The queue wasn’t too long, the meat was good with lots of choices, and they also have drink menus. The staff were very nice, the service was good, and they can communicate in English. They also have an English menu.

THE BEST YAKINIKU that is also budget friendly. Incredibly delicious food, high quality meat, friendly staff, if you are not proficient in Japanese, some staff also speak decent English! Definitely should try their Thick Sliced Tongue, Wagyu Short Ribs and Harami. Sauce based could be a bit too savoury but salt based is PERFECT!

This Yakiniku restaurant is awesome. Very clean and cozy atmosphere with some fun background music. The staff are very friendly, helpful, polite, professional, and speak English. I did not have to wait, I didn’t make a reservation as this place can fill up fast as there were already three parties inside. There is an English menu and it’s Yakiniku, it’s meat, it’s very straightforward. I had the salt beef tongue, thick cut tongue, Wagyu short ribs, sukiyaki top blade, and a lemon sour to wash it all done. The meat came out real fast and are perfectly seasoned and marinated, you really can taste the meat and enjoy it. There’s a small individual grill that cooks any of the thin cut meat real fast and not too long for the thicker cuts. You don’t need to overcook your beef, as in it doesn’t need to be brown or have no pink, that’s destroys the meat and your wallet, good job you flushed a bunch of money down the drain to chew on leather. I was full and more than satisfied.

We ordered the most “expensive” (it’s actually super cheap for what we got) all you can drink course from the menu. Beef with top quality for sure! Got 6 drinks in total. Salad+side dish+dessert. Feels like fine dining but the price is soooo affordable. Amazing environment and friendly staffs. Great for local experience.

The meat was superb for the price. The harami is the best thing ever and paired with yakiniku rice it was so goooood! And it didn't break bank either. We got 4 servings of meat plus 2 alcoholic drinks and rice at $50. A steal!
